Zaner-Bloser's Strategies for Writers® platform provides an interface for teachers to assign writing assignments to their students. This includes a more robust interface for grades 2-8 and a simpler version for kindergarten and 1st grade students with larger buttons. I was given a basic mock-up for this interface and was asked to spruce it up and develop the front-end. This interface for younger children included text-to-speech assistance for information about the assignment including direct feedback comments made by the teacher.
This was a great project to work on because we got to do a test session with a group of 4-year-olds and took notes regarding how intuitive they found the interface and how they interacted with it.
