Used car dealers pay a flat monthly fee to gain access to a large network of other dealers looking to buy/sell between each other. A Car Jockey account interfaces with a dealer’s inventory feed, and can be set to automatically post any inventory over a certain age in their system. It is also easy to add multiple vehicles manually and check to see if the imported data is missing any important info. On the left, we see the step in the import process that interfaces with a 3rd party wholesale valuation system introduced to keep prices fair. It was a challenge to come up with meaningful features and 3rd party partnerships to balance the attractiveness, effectiveness, and ease of use. I was thrilled when a dealer told me he was saving $13,000 a month using Car Jockey to move his cold inventory instead of traditional auctions, which involve several fees per vehicle sold.

The Gilded Vinyl Gallery is purchase-through-inquiry-only e-commerce like you would find on an art gallery website—customers must essentially get a quote on specific products they want.
The client wanted a logo design and full e-commerce with a stamp he could use for outgoing shipments to customers.
The live site currently looks a little different since they recently migrated platforms to accommodate a larger product database, but the logo, branding, remains the same with most of the original copywriting as well.
I included here some images of alternate versions that were presented to the client. See GildedVinyl.com for live site.

RADNode is a social miniwiki portal for sharing and organizing entries and collections of entries. The subject is restricted to software development, and in addition to wiki entries, there are discussion entries like a messageboard.
Whereas usually you might simply bookmark a traditional wiki entry in the browser, here the idea is you log in and save a stack of wiki entries together and label it for your purposes. For example, you might save a stack that contains wiki entries for a handful of relevant plugins and frameworks you want to use together for a project, along with some wiki entries specifically for terminology and paradigms surrounding the project’s components.
Instead of sharing with a friend, “Here is this wiki article on this one topic” the paradigm shifts to “Here is this stack of wiki articles that are interrelated, and the entries are short enough they all fit on one screen.”

Zaner-Bloser's Strategies for Writers® platform provides an interface for teachers to assign writing assignments to their students. This includes a more robust interface for grades 2-8 and a simpler version for kindergarten and 1st grade students with larger buttons. I was given a basic mock-up for this interface and was asked to spruce it up and develop the front-end. This interface for younger children included text-to-speech assistance for information about the assignment including direct feedback comments made by the teacher.
This was a great project to work on because we got to do a test session with a group of 4-year-olds and took notes regarding how intuitive they found the interface and how they interacted with it.

Laid out a photo/motion graphics campaign series with the theme “It all comes down to search” intended to roll out in several stages to keep the front page design fresh while creatively reinforcing the brand message and avoiding stock photography. In this photo, the bride-to-be searches for wedding services. Co-developed the new logo and brand standards along with the new site.
In 2010 the company I worked for, People To My Site, wanted a proprietary CMS that you might compare to Squarespace in that clients could log into and change simple content, add text, create forms, select a template from our premade templates, etc. These were some of my mockups as we got into later phases of designing.
